Hello everyone!

I've been following this impressive website a couple of years looking for a boat.  I just got a '99 Epic 22.  The previous owner got rid of the trailer soon after buying it (several years ago) because the boat was stored exclusively on a lift.  I'm working with a local boat trailer manufacturer to build a new trailer, but we're guessing at the bunk configuration and trailer setup.  Curt at Ameritrail said they stopped manufacturing the trailers for Toyota Epics in 2005, and they did not keep any records for the bunk or trailer setup.  So, I really need your help.

Would anyone that has an Epic 22 or X22 snap a couple of pictures of their trailer so I can show them to the trailer manufacturer, please? :)  I've got a month in this trailer building thing and a hiccup in the manufacturing process today may delay it another month.  At least my wife and I got to ski behind it a couple of minutes on the demo run!

Dimensions of the bunks would really peg the awesome meter!!  But I realize that's asking a lot...

The pic under my user name was my Epic maiden voyage and first attempt loading an inboard on a Nautique trailer. ;)

Thanks!  This website is a wonderful use of technology.

It looks like Cal successfully swapped out his X22 trailer with a Malibu Wakesetter. I'm sure you could get the dimensions on those as an alternative (or even find a used one?)?

Good luck and congrats! Where are you located?

Are you planning on going to the Roundup in August?  I am in Greenville SC and my boat is Dry Docked on lake keowee.  Trailer is sitting in storage.  Are you close?  Could meet up at your trailer builder if it is not too far.

The trailers and bunk placement are significantly different between the two boats. I would recommend that we photo and measure someones E22 trailer at the round up, I even have a laser distance measuring tool accurate to 2mm @ 100 M, and a digital protractor to measure bunk angles.

Pete, the problems with waiting until the Roundup is that Skibeau sounds as if he needs basic measurements today or he will not have a trailer to get to the Roundup!!

This may sound lame and it will definitley prove that I don't trailer these things. My 1999 Epic 21 trailer has been sitting in the yard since Breakaway dropped it off - never been used. While I don't want to get rid of it because of that maynbe, just maybe case I may need it, Skibeau is welcome to use it until his trailer can be made or he buys another one. I don't have a clue whether his boat would or could fit on it but it is at Hartwell if needed.

You guys are awesome.  In two years of following this website and dreaming about a boat, I never cease to be surprised by your selflessness and devotion to one another.  Those are magnanimous offers.  No doubt Toyota is a top manufacturer, but Toyota can't touch you guys.

I'd love to go to the roundup since I'm nearby in Columbia.  My plans however, place me on Lake Murray in a high end rental teaching extended family to ski.  Those plans presume upon getting the boat there as Rambing Wreck referenced.

I sent Rsatterfield a pm requesting a visit to measure and photograph his trailer since he has the closest '99 Epic 22 in Charlotte according to Frappr.  I'll try to be patient a couple of days to see what he says.

I have an 1999 Epic with an Amertrail 22' trailer, at least that's what's on the title.
I am in Spartanburg, but the boat is stored near Fishing Creek Lake, between Great Falls,SC
and Heath Springs. It's about 15 miles off I-77 exit 97.
Should be about an hour closer to you than Charlotte.
My wife and I will be there this Tues and Wed (July 31 and Aug 1)
If you would like to come by.
E mail me for more info...lescores@bellsouth.net

The Wakesetter trailer did fit pretty close.  I had to lift the two inside bunks between .5 - 1.5" -- but other than that, it is close enough not to worry about it.  The Wakesetter it was designed for was an '02 with the older hull design.  I was going to adjust the bunks myself but got lazy.  Total bill was about $350 to do the adjustments.
