A great restaurant & better website - Chipotle
« on: March 24, 2006, 18:13:52 pm »

This website is so cool. There are so many hidden treats. For example, make sure you find the 'music' page (I love the people dancin on the record player) and listen to a few of the samples, the overhead view of the serving line, where you can read the tomatillo salsa's life story, and finally, the live "avacado ripening" and "chicken mariniating" webcams.

I love CA.

It's a chain owned by Mcdonalds. They have them here in the dirty south, too. Cool site.

We have so many Latinos here that there are a lot of great family run restaurants, had lunch in one today. I am so used to good Mexican food that I even ate in one in Powell River, BC last week. It was nasty, they put Cheez Wiz on my burrito!!

McD's...kinda a turn off...

Nasty 'bout the Cheeze Whiz. It's kinda funny how diverse Mexican food is across the county. I always tend to thing OUR styles of Mexican are authentic and stuff in Texas, NM, etc., are somehow less authentic. Not the case.

Pete, Krejci would back me up on this, when you come to these parts, one sure-fire stop is Miguels JR. I'' make you try the Pork Potato Cheese burrito (tastes like an awesome stew in a tortilla), and of course the Shredded Beef Tacos and a Bean Cheese Rice Burrito. IT's all good there.

Miguel Jr.s is for sure the bomb.  That place is very tasty.  For sit down, you have to go to Rodrigo's.  peace out!

Hey Krejci, we went to that place not too long after it opened up and it was the worst experience. Well, maybe if Bitzy's crew had been serving us it'd be worse in some respects, but it was kind of a standout dissapointment and we haven't been back. Based on your response, we'll have to try again. That taco place across the street from it? THAT'S the bomb. Great tacos.

I'm in Campbell River this week, work stuff. Paper industry. Beauty place. They filmed part of The 13th Warrior here, one of the battle scenes 'r sumpthin.

If you EVER end up in Detroit, go to Xochimilcos. it is off Porter street to the right of the Ambassador Bridge a couple blocks. Any cab driver will know. It's a big popular (safe) restaurant. Lots of sports types in there, cool people. The place is open 11 am to 4 am  7 days a week. Get the Large Botana. It is like a nacho with a meat and bean sauce, monterey jack and and chopped avocado and peppers and spicy tomatoes, impossible to describe. Feeds 4 for 10 bucks. I should send it in to that annoyingly upbeat and cheerful Rachel Ray chick on that there TV channel.
