Attn: web developers and techies! Need help!

Greetings epic Mariners.

I need someone on here with web dev and database skills to rebuild the parts search database. I hacked it together about 10 or so years ago using mysql and php and the time has come to rebuild. The current version of php it is built on is out of date and the web host is going to cut it off eminently.

It’s a pretty simple search database but I don’t have the skills or time to rebuild using latest php syntax. Plus there are probably better solutions that are easier for someone with decent skills.

If you can help please reach out to me. Im happy to help the transition.

We could also stand to transition to another web host as The yearly cost is about $180 which I have paid with help from donations and help from captn Rick over the years.

If the parts are being sold off by vintagepartsinc how long do we need a working parts search and purchase system?

@lesman is the forum going to be deprecated as well?  That is a huge issue if this is the case.

We definitely need a working, searchable forum with the content preserved, there is a lot of knowledge encapsulated here. I think we can manage that pretty easily. It would be nice to have the parts page searchable but no pricing as the parts will not be available. BUT, we want to know the part numbers and have the diagrams etc.

No.  the forum is already compliant. Not worried about that. But. I think I will post a backup of it on here soon so that  there is a backup somewhere.
