Is my boat at E22? It's not an S. I need to replace impeller. I'm trying to figure out which manual. I heard it was mainly 4 bolts. Is that U1X manual corrects or different. Could use correct link. I'm out of state so I have to buy all tools. I've never worked with a torque wrench before. The things I read seem way beyond 4 bolts. I'm confused. Is this something an amature can pull off, any advice? Necessary tools? How complex? Struggling. I ask boat stores and they are rude about a Toyota Epics. I'm in Henderson, NV where my boat is stored.

Also, what is standard running temp on engine. After yesterday's days fiasco I dropped in lake. Upon turning engine on it was immediate 120 degrees. After it sat while parking car, it was 145, moments later 165 as we left no wake zone. Neared 180 doing nothing and we pulled it off the lake.

Day before my post is about possible overheat. Guidance. Please help. I'm on iPad, maybe searching is more difficult?

Thank you for the confidence. We did replace the impeller. That last bolt on the water pump on the bottom is a b1tch. The Perko was blocking it. I know pretty much nothing and I started to unscrew the top screws off of it so I could move it over without success. So, I just put them back. We also cleaned the sea strainer. Went to lake to test and ZERO power.

Sending my husband home on flight, and I'm sticking around to hope to figure it out and find help. Any advice for the non mechanically inclined female is immensely appreciated!

Boat engine temperature is 167-180 when running. After shutting it off the temp. will rise like a pot on the stove.

More importand touch the exhaust manifolds are they hot and need to remove hand or are they so hot you burn hand. ( thats too hot)

Also you can remove the hose going into each manifold one at a time with the motor running and see if the same volume of water is being pushed into bilge.

To remove bottom bolt buy a #14 swivel 6 point socket and 6 inch extention. buy blaster if bolts are rusted.

I am more concerned about zero power?
Always carry vise grips to pinch fuel return line to see if one fuel pup is not working.

Thank you for the info. I'll try those things when I get power. That's very concerning.

Are there grounding bolts that you can direct me to? My mechanical non-local son was thinking I'm having a grounding Issue. Could I have blown the Perko when I unscrewed two top screws for a minute and rescrewed them?

Do I buy a new Perko? I tested it with a brand new battery just in case that's the issue.

The boat wasn't fry my hands hot, just hot, but I did sit on the water and let it cool and opened the engine bay.

It drove perfectly until this power thing yesterday, even after being hot while we tested it.

TO BYPASS THE PERKO SWITCH CONNECT BOTH TO THE SAE TERMINAL.
THE INLINE FUSE IS WITHIN 8 INCHES OF THE PERKO SWITCH. CHECK THAT.

Thank you all. I found a marine shop who would help me despite being swamped. I had a bad Perko switch and they replaced and tested and all my gauges are messed up. It showed zero oil pressure, it claimed to be running much hotter than true temp. It was laser tested at 135-140 degrees, impeller was great with lots of water flowing. Exhaust wasn't hot. Started great. Looks like I need to figuring out the gauges and wiring. I'll search forum and tackle next. They didn't even believe there was a Lexus engine. Looks like I need to learn to be a mechanic for this boat. This site is so helpful! Thank you... thank you!

Running 8 guage ground wire from the battery - to the DECC ground terminal under the dash fixed my guage problems, mostly the overheating reading. Been good for several years now.
