Been following the SuckGate thread and built two versions recently similar to bet_on_black's posts.  I first used the Seastow cups (center one) but it kept coming off.  The aluminum cups (right one) worked well.  I placed both versions with the fin nearest the back of the boat.  When I loaded all my ballast (700 in each Vdrive locker; 350 internal on each side and 400 in walkway in bow), I had difficulty holding speed at 10.5 mph without pushing the engine to 4200 rpm's.  So I emptied my internal ballast and reduced my Vdrive ballast to 1/2 levels and was able to hold speed at 3700 rpm's.

All my riders thought the surf wave was longer with still enough push versus our old method of listing the boat to one side (700 Vdrive, 350 internal and 400 in walkway).

Still want the Seastow to work, so next time out I'll look to relocate it and see if it sticks.

Your goofy side looks great. How is your regular side wake? Any pictures?
Thanks

my Suck Gate and Surf videos

fist video wave doesn't clean up because driver isn't at the right speed and I'm thinking i have to much weight up front and i need to trim the swim deck I made

seccond vid was recorded in slow mo and i dont know how to edit it for youtube but you can see the wave I'm getting

I started with my suck gate at 750 in each Vdrive locker, 350 in my internal ballast on each side and 400 fat sack in bow walkway.  The placement of the suck gate is similar to Jimbo and speed from 10.3 to 10.7 mph.  The wave seemed to be too much turbulence similar to Jimbo's first video.

I currently run with 400 lbs in each Vdrive locker, no internal ballast and 400 lbs in bow at same speed.  The wave cleans up nicely with plenty of push and longer wave vs the old listing to one side setup.

I do have a trimmed teak swim deck.

I'll try to post photo's when I can round some up.

Would love to see your setup with the deck.

Thanks! Brad!
