Been a tough couple of years and had to mothball the mighty SX but got through a the BS intact with my finances, old cars, self respect, mojo and most importantly, the boat. It needs some work but I've deployed a top man to get her straight.
Had two overheating incidents over the years. One due to an undocumented winterizing procedure for the trans cooler, only applicable to vdrive boats. Did a field repair to the cooler (jb weld) that has held up.
The second was due to a seized alternator (factory) that popped my serpentine belt. I was in the middle of the channel, 3 foot chop and had to push it to safe water. It got hot.
So, both times it caused damage to the exhaust hoses. If you overheat, replace them. They will eventually collapse, fail and cause you to sink. A pringles can and three 4" hose clamps can save the day, hear me now and believe me later;)
Anyway, good to be back and I will keep you all posted on the progress, I'm cautiously optimistic.
So my guy tells me that the exhaust hose is available at O'reillys auto parts if you know what to ask fer.
