Epic Original Covers - cheap!

I don't have a swimstep cover, so I always pull the swim step off the boat during the winter and put it in the garage. There are two pins underneath to remove and it slides right off a tongue and groove type bracket. Whole process takes about 30 seconds.

Thanks for the reply. What do you do during the summer though? Our boats stay outside and we use them a lot. After the teak gets wet and sits in the sun, it gets pretty haggard right away.

Do a search in the forum for "teak." Most people use a cleaning, brightening, oiling process. It looks real nice after the brightening and oiling. I haven't found a good oil (used Meguiar's once and it looked gray again after the first time it got wet). There are some others people have tried with varying success. I don't recommend pressure washing- works well and is fast, but will remove the soft grains in the wood over time.

Thanks for the suggestion epic_toy, Ive pulled the platform many a time.  I was hoping the platform cover would be more applicable for water usage, but the bottom of it would be really bad after a short period of time.  My Epic and Scarab sit in the water all summer, not on a lift (really friggin wish we had at least one).

Thanks for the input and suggestions. My neighbor put a composite step on his to avoid all that work of applying oil, cleaning etc. My boat cover goes over the step now which I find a lot easier. Just to clarify from my previous posts - $100 is for the snap cover for the boat. I only wanted $35 (including shipping) for the swim step cover which, to me, seems cheap compared to the cost of the oil, chemicals and labor - sort of like the proverbial "ounce of prevention" rather than doing a lot of work to make it nice again. I'm open to offers if you think that price is too high on either cover.

I'm not sure what cover the other member had but the ones I have for sale fit like a glove. You can definitely trailer with them. Here's what the last guy said that got one. "Kick ass.  Thanks so much.  Fits perfect!" I still have one original cover - "Bat Wing" style to fit over the tower with the tower down. It is NEW - never been on the boat. I have the original box, strap kit, documentation and even the "cincher." The manufacturer says the covers with the Toyota Epic logos are no longer made so this could be one of the last ones or THE last one. It's blue and I'll take $300 for it.

Hey Steve, I am interested in the tower up cover.  Has anyone got a picture of this type on a boat?  Mine is the tower down type and i am looking to get out of that part for summer "on a lift" use.

The *new* factory cover is gone - Thanks Joel! The cover is on it's way to Canada to live with Hungry Man. I still have a water proof swim step cover - $25 or best offer and a nice snap cover in blue for $95 or best offer. So far everyone I've dealt with on this site has been really nice to work with.

Will you snap cover fit a 2000 S22? If so, Im more than interested.

I don't see any reason that it wouldn't fit. It was on a 1999 22' Epic so it should work. You will have to either take the boat to an upholstery shop or install the male ends yourself. Shipping should be inexpensive.Let me know if you have any more questions and if you want it. Thanks.

Hi Folks, I bought the Blue factory "Toyota" cover from Steve.  It looks and works great.  It was truly in new condition!

Thanks Hungry Man. I have BRAND NEW  straps from the extra strap kit. If anyone needs the original Westalnd straps with the little extra buckle, I will sel one or the whole bunch. I also still have the snap cover and a swim step cover left. I've had snaps on my last couple of boats and it didn't reduce my resale value at all. In fact, the buyers agreed that the snaps are very easy. I covered my boat more often with a snap cover. You can trailer with it as well.

Thanks, Pete. I hope you like the snap cover. I still have a box of extra straps for the factory Westland covers so if anyone needs a strap or a set, I will probably have these for a long time. As for price, what's fair? Is a buck a piece reasonable?
