i did a search for the flaky gauges.   i know i am to add a new power line from the battery but i am curious to see if anyone has pictures.  i am a very visual person.  my oil pressure gauge is flaking a little.  will drop then power right back to 40 psi.  then drop then kick right back in.  could be sending unit but i would think that would be more consistant.  let me know

thanks

Does the gauge just do this at idle? Up & Down to 40psi?
If it only does it at idle it may be a bad sender. My 99 Epic 21 oil gauge still does that with a new sender and new power supply wiring. The oil pressure sender is mounted it a bad spot for accurate readings at all RPM's. This was per the factory service rep when the boat was in warranty.

I'm 40 psi at idle as well... thought I noticed it hanging around there even at some slower speeds lately.... but when engine is "getting it" it's 80+

Another data point for you.

I will be adding the new ground wire for all gauges this weekend and can take some pictures for you.  I just did the 30 amp main fuse upgrade because it blew and left me in the middle of the lake stranded!  That was very easy and took only 1 hour total.  If you can wait I will post next Monday.

My PSI gauge is eratic, my heat gauge is running high and I want to change that wire before going any further into the problem.

Cheers,

Hungry Man

it seems to do it only at idle.

Dude. Duuuude. DUUUUDEE. Ignore it until fall, that's what I'm doin. Push the E button on the multigauge to acknowledge the alarm and enjoy your boat. I'll fix it this winter.

 :D :D :D

That's it Pete, tell them to get their priorities in line. The thing is running, keep driving...

make notes and come back to it in the fall/winter
