Never seen this be a problem before. Typically epic owners know its likely going to sell out of state vs. local. Demand is much greater nation wide.

If not I would pick up the phone. Talk to someone in person at least to start, before you go email. People tend to be more comfortable when hearing a voice. Avoid typical scam language like "cashiers check" or "I'm from out of the country" or "Will you ship it". Don't start off with I'm 2000 miles away. They don't need to know where you from until your serious. Don"t sound overly aggressive like " I'm driving 2000 miles this thing better be exactly like you stated"
Don't make them do extra work, get it all handled on your end or at least as much as you can.
