How to remove font seat back rest?
« on: July 28, 2020, 20:36:32 pm »
I am a little ashamed to admit I was rushed the other morning headed to the lake and I left the gas filler nozzle in the boat and... drove away. It has broken the plastic Perko gas filler nozzle.   :'(

In order to gain access to the backside and replace it, I am assuming I will need to remove the front seat back rest.

Are there clips? Snaps?

Thanks...

Most have a clip in the going down position and with bolt and nuts. Use you camera to see the fiberglass. Look up from the seat base against the hull sides.

Good luck.

Ps dont let the fill hose fall! Does your have the built in vent or is it on side of boat? Remove 4 screws holding fuel deck flange on deck. Pull up on fitting and try to remove double hose clamps and grounding wire.

This is what I've got...

Maybe Ill be able to keep it and pull it out enough that I don't have to remove the seat to get in behind it?

That would be sweet!!!

Just for record/search sake,

I went in and actually pulled the hoses and broken fitting all the way down underneath the front right hand side of the seat. Pulled the plastic fitting off of the two hoses after un screwing the clamps.

I screwed in the new fitting on the top side to the fiberglass filler area and then reached my arm under the seat along side the hull and shoved the hoses back onto the fittings. Slid the clamps back up and tightened em down with a stubby screwdriver and it's good to go!

I don't know how effective this method will be for others as I mentioned earlier, my arms are long and I put my right arm/shoulder down into the hull storage area of the front seat to make it work.

Also there was some sort of wire back there that was disconnected. I don't know what it goes to???

It is a grounding wire so there is no spark to go Boom!
