Shoddy workmanship
« on: April 27, 2020, 14:58:44 pm »
This side panel was loose towards the back, like someone had pulled on the handle there too hard, so I removed it to try fixing it and found this handy work
This couldn't have come from the factory like this right?? It looks like this panel broke during installation and they were like, "ah lets just screw a piece of plywood on and send it". Anyone else find shoddy work in their boat? Under the front seat, some screws that hold this panel in were totally stripped too.
I have only owned the boat for the last 4 years so someone could have monkeyed with it before me.

Previous owner!  Toyota did not have wood in the factory to build our boats.

not factory They would have used starboard plastic and stainless screws and done something that looked not much better than that but not like that. If you look at other boats built during that timeframe, (Maliboo, Masterturd, Nautiques, Stupras, Moombassa, Teeegay they use the same construction techniques and often the same people.

Notice there's one exception to my ridicule, they are tiny inside like boats for GI Joes or something. But, they are nice. Pricey but really the only other choice if your Epic ever croaks. But, it won't. Not ever. So not really a choice after all.
