Panel down and to the right of Driver - Epic 22
« on: May 17, 2020, 20:22:45 pm »
Help!  This panel has come loose.  I can't seem to get access to it either.  Does anyone know how to get this panel off?  Right now I don't see how to get access or how to how to reattach it.

Just looking at it (what little I can see) it almost appears as if it had been riveted to the side of the hull.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Dan

There are screws buried in the carpet - you have to find them. There is one right in front of your fingers, but since the piece it screws into is broken off, you don't need to deal with that one for now. There are two screws at the far right end of the carpeted section - about an inch or two in from the corners (near the storage step). Then I believe there is at least one nut holding the vinyl portion of the panel on (the carpet and vinyl comes off as all one big awkward piece/panel). You have to put your hand up through the access holes in the plastic piece above the cupholders and feel for the bolt/nut. It's been a couple years since I removed mine, so I can't remember exactly.

If you get those screws and nuts off and it's still not coming off, hunt for another screw buried in the carpet and/or another nut.

Excellent... I looked in the carpet last weekend but couldn't find any screws.  I'll drag my hand along there this weekend when I'm at the boat.

I hope I can fix that piece that was attached to the hull.  I could see well enough to know that wasn't screwed to the side of the hull.  What I am really worried about it getting it off and never getting it reattached.

Thanks for your help.

Usually there's a small piece of plastic embedded to the side of the hull, or a small loop of fiberglass mat that sticks up off the hull that you can drill holes into for short mounting screws. If it came loose, you could refix it with 5 min epoxy and be ready to party.
