wiring an accessory to the factor switch panel (DECC)
« on: June 12, 2019, 20:08:15 pm »
I would like to use one of the factory switches (ACC) on the switch panel to turn a device on or off.

Does anyone know the method to do so?

Get a test light to see if it still works . What amperage is it ?

Yes, there's a relay box under the dash with screw terminals and a bunch of orange wires. Those terminals become active when the buttons are pushed. So, you can wire low amperage accessories right to those terminals (the hot wire) and run a ground from a ground connection under the dash. Use a test light or multimeter to find the unused accessory terminal that goes to 12v when you activate the accessory switch. If you wanted to switch a large pump or other high amperage load you should wire that output to switch an automotive style relay so as not to overload the little relay box.
