tach guage dead

Greeting all,

My tach guage is dead. the big round one in the dash. Also, there is no reading when i look at the mdc digital tach readout either. I remember something about a sender unit at the engine that may be the issue. I searched the forum but could not find it.

All other guages...temp, battery, speedo(perfect pass) work fine..well as good as they ever have. I got the sense that she was idling faster than normal 700-900 but i can't verify without a reading.

Any help on how to troubleshoot this further?

Remove all plugs on MMDC and clean with electro cleaner spray. Also check wire harness at engine look at gray wire and remove plug and spray .

Thanks Rick, i went up yesterday armed with CRC cleaner. Fired up the boat and the tach was working. I did spray the connectors anyway. thanks.
