If there are two thermostats available, one at 155 degrees and one at 170 degrees, which would be preferred? I understand that less temp equals more power but how much power do we need? Less temp also means more engine wear, less gas mileage and more particulates in the oil. I have the lighter E21 and don't do the heavy pulling of some members so maybe power is less important to me but it also seems that folks with heavy pulling requirements address the issue with various props. My boat scoots across the lake like a scalded dog and unless a 200 lb.+ novice slalom skier asks for a pull when my boat is loaded to the max with human ballast, I don't give a second thought to who jumps in for the next pull. Thoughts?
