ECU Pinout?
« on: April 17, 2015, 07:40:44 am »
Anyone have a pinout for the ECU on our boats. I'm considering trying to build a custom wiring harness so that the perfect pass DBW units will work with our boats, but I'm not finding a reliable pinout diagram that would let me know if we have all the signals needed from our ECU to make it work.

Anyone have an ECU pinout?

Anyone have a model number for our ECU?

Try the 1UZ-FE shop manual http://www.epicmarine.com/docs/M1UZrm.pdf for wiring pin outs on the engine side.

I'm curious if that system would even work with our boats with a custom wiring harness.  It appears that the Mastercraft ECUs have a feature built in that allows external throttle control and I don't think the Toyota ECU has that capability.  You may want to call Perfect Pass and get some more info.

I'll take another look through it, I didn't find a pin out the last time I looked.  Zero off definitely isn't possible as it requires an econtrols ecu. However PP DBW may be. Based on my research it appears that the pre 2007 boats used a mefi5 computer and hooked into the cruise control pins to control the engine. It appears that the control achieved signal was done by watching the cruise on lamp signal. Our boats are actually throttle by wire, so depending on which computer is in our boats this may be possible.

Found it in the Shop Manual, it's on page DI-17 If anyone is looking for it.  Now to get the pinout for the ECU for the corresponding automotive ECU.

This would be a very nice option for those of us looking to add perfectpass!
