epic 21 boat cranks but will not start

boat has not been run in a year just to tell everybody...


have tried the troubleshooting maintenance guide...
started out not even turning over but i sanded down the grounds and it turns over fine now...just no spark or fuel( one or the other i guess)
checked fuel pulsation dampener and seems to be getting power
tried the manual fuel pump operation...pump is definately working...
am about to take the fuel pump off and check for flow...dont know if i am getting gas or not
dont see any crimps in the hoses...
going to check the screens in front of the pump also...
i am getting power to the gauges so i figured my kill switch is fine...

I'm not a techie, and this sounds like the point that I would find a dealer.  If you haven't run it in a year and can't get it to turn over, it seems like it could be so many things...  good luck.

Change plugs!!!! (cures 99% of problems)

Also, was the gas stabilized when the boat was last used? If not, siphon out the old stuff ands change the fuel filter/water separator.

thanks for your updates... i did a full recon on the boat and got it too start... because it hadn't been run in awhile wanted too protect myself

this may be helpful for someone in ry future...   

because the boat hadn't been run in awhile it seemed the starter needed a little more juice to flip it over and probably because the gas was a little dead even though there was stabilizer and new gas was put in... i hooked up my car too the battery and it pushed the starter enough to flip over... my guess is the starter was stuck in an area and needed a little more juice to move freely

It is a high compression engine with a high torque starter. The battery has to be pretty well charged to turn it over. Glad to hear you got the boat running:)
