Ski pole extension

Does anyone know of an extension pole that fits over the ski pole just foreward of the motor enclosure on and E21 that will raise the tow rope up several feet.  We bought a WEGO Kite Tube, loved it, but when we started hearing about a death and several serious injuries, the BOSS made me get it replaced with WEGO's option.  We ended up with a three seat towable and a SUMO towable.  The SUMO is very hard to keep the front up to start and I figure that if I can get the rope up above the boat high enough, it will provide the lift necessary to get the SUMO on plain.  Yes I could spend the money to buy and install a wakeboard tower, but 1). I'm too cheap to spend that kind of money for one (poorly designed) towable and 2). I would not be able to get the boat high enough on my boat lift to keep the rain/blowing debris out of the boat without putting on the mooring cover.  After spending $10 on the lift and waterproof deck above the boat, a tower is out of the question.

Most towers fold down, so that's an option for you. Not sure if the ski-pole extensions are a good ideal for big tubes with all the torque those things generate, but I'm sure there are a bunch available at overtons.com or wakeside.com. You may have to move the motorbox back a little for it to fit, but that shouldn't be too big a deal.

I use a Skylon brand extended pylon and have never had a problem. I have even used it to pull up a salolm skier that weighs 220. It creeks a lot when I do that but stands tall. You do NOT have to move the motor box to install an extended pylon.

 3 seat 170lbs average= 510lbs plus whatever the drag would be that's alot of force on that pole in good conditions. I would talk to the manufacture and let him what you would be doing with it could be a problem. My .02

I have a high fly pole and I would not tow that kite tube from it. The weight of me and my wake board gives that pole a work out. I weigh 220, if you pulled that tube you would rip your pylon right out. I had a big 4 person mable and when that thing got wet it was heavy. I could watch my gas gauge drop when pulling that thing around and we all know how toyotas are with gas. DONT DO IT

I don't know if I should be adding to the conversation since I am not familiar with the tube you guys are discussing but I pulled 4 teenagers around for a while last week behind my E21. They were all on slaloms. Pulled them up without missing a beat. Other boaters and folks on shore sure got a kick out of it! I will try to take a picture of it next time - they have a blast.

Our boats are more than plenty powerfull enough thats not what we are talkin about. That extended pylon is not strong enough for a kite tube. we all know we can pull 5 skiers. The kite tube is a flying tube that is 10 ft in diameter.

I would tend to agree with the majority who think the extended pole is a bad idea.  On the other hand, I really only wanted it for the SUMO, which is a single person "suit" the rider wears, not the three person towable.  I also noticed the tremendous drag that the larger three person towable puts on the boat, but, is it ever stable and fun to ride.  The SUMO is problbly something WEGO just wanted to get out of their inventory, it's pretty hard to master.

You will be fine with the sumo yube on the extended pylon. I bought one of those sumo tubes last year and hated it. It was lots of fun but the way your body is it seems like your going to snap your neck if you dont keep your head up you know what I mean?
