Accuski
« on: June 23, 2007, 23:23:33 pm »
Hey everyone, just wanted an opinion on Accuski... is it worth installing or should I just drop the pretty penny on Perfect Pass.  i have used PP in the past on different boats so I know it is easy to use.  Is Accuski that difficult to use?  I have seen the manuals on the site but without really using it I don't know how difficult it really is.  Also, how would I go around getting the rest of the components for Accuski?  Does anyone have the parts since switching over to PP?
Capt Rick, is this something we can order from you?

Thanks so much, Jason

When I first got my SX I thought I could make accusuck work for a while until I saved up the money for PP. After two weeks of adjusting cables and becoming intimate with accusuck I bought PP, Again for the second epic I've owned. If you really want accusuck I'll send you my old parts.

Main thing that makes pp much better is the paddle wheel which tracks speed MUCH more accurately than the pressure speedo. My guess is that if you're actually using it for skiing, since the speed is much faster than for wakeboarding, Accuski MAY work well enough.

But, when i ski someone I don;t usually even use my PP because it's much easier to keep the speed when you're going that fast.

It's a lot of money for PP, but I have not regretted it once...even though you have to cut a 2" hole in the bottom of your boat for the paddle wheel.

Wakejunky, for sure...I would take to Accusuck stuff!!!  This is just a stop gap until I can save up enough $$ for the PP.  I know how easy PP is because I have used it but the wife WILL NOT approve another expensive purchase for the boat this summer.  I am sure all of you understand the situation I am in!  Whatever any of you want for your Accuski "stuff" we can work a deal.  Let me know, thanks so much, Jason

Jason, I wouldn't even waste the time to install Accuski -- It is a complete joke.  A three-year old kid sipping a Red Bull could hold a speed better than accuski can.  It won't work the way you want it to, and you'll be bummed out...

Don't  bother with the accusuck. You cannot adjust how much throttle it puts on for a given error in speed, and the speed cannot be accurately or precisely measured. (there is a big difference between accuracy and precision in closed loop control, for you little freakazoid engineers out there)

SO, you have a robot that moves the throttle indiscriminately, and always at the worst possible time. If you want that, buy PP, have your PO'd wife drive with the PP turned OFF, you'll still have PP and have the same result. You are still gonna get a 3 mph drop in speed when you are airborne at 22 mph.

You are better off saving your money and grief and getting PP.

Well....

I am convinced...No Accuski for me!  I'll just start saving up for the PP Wakeboard Pro!

Thanks for your advice,

Jason
