boats at ski masters
« on: August 02, 2005, 04:36:25 am »
Want an epic bad and went to look at the boats at ski masters.  They are being very unrealistic.  Tring to sell a "2002" X22 with over 160 hours as a "new" boat.  I drove and skied behind it and it is nice, but not new.  SX only has about 20 hours and they informed me they have turned down offers for 40K which I do not believe.  Asking 45k for a boat that is several years old whether it has been licensed or not when they have new MB sports parked next to it for 50k seemed a little crazy.  Oh well, just thought I would share.

Sounds like the ski masters are money slaves.  If the boat is not shrink wraped with 0 hrs,  it ain't NEW!

Give some thought to the boats for sale by members(Capt. Rick, EpicRider, IndyNick, krejciman ). Members obviously care about their Epics.

You know, I drove from LA to Dallas for my boat...

If you were to drive Seattle to Orlando to pick up Capt. Rick's....you'd be my hero. No, really.

Lets hook up and do some riding some time. I live in Kirkland and try to get out a few mornings a week. Like ToyotaFreak I too have drove to Texas buy a boat. Got a great deal on it, put 120 hrs on it that summer then sold it and broke even.  5k miles round trip took five days and had a blast. Managed to talk a good friend into using his truck (He still holds that one against me). Any way the Road trip to Texas from here is managable.... Florida ????

Terry,

I actually live in Bellingham, so that would not work on a weekday.  I would love to come down some weekend and ride with you.  I live on Lake Samish up here.  As for member boats, I would have loved to have gotten Indy Nick's boat but he just sold it.  Spoke with him this weekend.  Talk at you later.

Greg,

What's the deal with Lake Samish anyway? I always drool over how nice it looks when I drive by on I-5, and hardly anybody ever seems to be out there. Is it private?

No Samish is not a private lake, but it is very nice most weekdays.  It gets pretty crazy on the weekends during the summer however.  All in all it is a great ski and wakeboard lake though.

I don't think Skimasters is  being unrealistic about their boats, the owner owns them, he knows what he's got, and he's willing to wait for someone willing to pay his price.  He sold a lot of Toyotas, based on the number of parts I saw in there. I saw at least 15 sets of brackets for swim platforms, and eight or ten or more platforms, teak and composite, of various types. Lots of little boxes on the shelves marked Toyota.
The sales guy, Rick, was cool enough to take me over to show me the boat on a Sunday. I told him about the site and stuff, and I'm sure he knew I wasn't towing any boat back to Atlanta, etc. BUT, he showed me the boat and let me climb around in the rafters at SkiMasters.
I mentioned that the dealer had been beaten up on here about service, he came right out and said that they had service problems in the past, but they'd got things right. That's true about any boat dealer, good mechanics move around a lot HI TONY!

So, if you want a new Toyota with a full  3year? warrantee, there is ONE PLACE to get one. Even if it has 160 hours on it. That's 40 before the first oil change is due.....
