Trailer Parts for Sale
« on: March 31, 2019, 16:58:16 pm »
Greetings, Epic owners. I have for sale some used UFP DB-42 brake parts for our Ameratrail trailers. I have 2 calipers (right and left) with mounting brackets and clips and 2 rotor/hub assemblies.

As far as condition, the calipers worked well and there are no signs of deterioration (rubber boots look good). I don’t know how old they are. The rotors are in very good condition - not warped - probably replaced at some point. I measured them with my cheap-o measuring caliper and it shows 24.5 mm thickness on both rotors. The minimum stamped on them is 22.5. So, if my caliper is off a little, you probably still have at least a full millimeter.

You’ll probably want to buy new bleeder screws and caliper bolts and you will need new brake pads. You’ll also need a new set of bearings, races, and seals. I can provide links to order that stuff if needed.

I also have two Rockwell hubs without rotors, but I will sell these separate as they wouldn’t normally be used unless you want an axle without brakes. These are in excellent condition and include the seals and bearings, but you may choose to replace at least the seals. You might be able to use these if you want to upgrade to Kodiak brakes with separate rotors, but check on this before buying.

The story is that the S22 I purchased a couple years ago was missing one set of brakes on its tandem axle trailer. The previous owner removed them - maybe to save money on repair/maintenance and lack of need (he towed it with a heavy duty truck. The brakes have worked very well, but I tow across hills/mountains with an old Sequoia so I decided to add brakes to the second axle for peace of mind. Turns out it was only marginally more expensive to upgrade to DB-35 brakes on all 4 wheels than to add another set of DB-42s.

As far as price, I would like to sell the brakes as a set (calipers, brackets, and rotors.hubs) and I think $150 + shipping (USPS priority ~$30-$40) is a fair price. I priced out the calipers, brackets, and rotors/hubs on Eastern Marine’s website and it is well over $400 for everything new. I will sell the 2 hubs for $50 for both + USPS priority. I can provide more detailed photos or answer any questions you might have. Thanks!

If anyone wants any of this for just the cost of shipping, send me a PM. Otherwise, I am going to scrap it by the end of June.
