So my high pressure fuel pump was acting up and I looked at the option of purchasing OEM replacements but the cost seemed excessive for an inline fuel pump on a 4L engine.
I elected to get a knock-off fuel pump from ebay for $25. If you want to go "high-end" then the Bosche-44 (for $90) is a great target. mine comes off the same factory line in eastern europe but doesn't get stamped bosche.
I cut down the original bracket got rid of the low pressure pump completely, pushed the overflow directly back to the tank, and used the original wire harness. Finally I mounted the new pump under the seat for service accessibility.
Hope my experience can save someone else a few bones.
Cheers,
Benjamin
