Upholstery Letters (TOYOTA) & Boat Covers
« on: August 30, 2016, 06:38:25 am »
Hi All!

My husband and I are proud new owners of an Epic 22. We just drove it from MN to Utah, trashed the cover, installed a wake tower, cleaned it up and have been enjoying her.

We took it out with some friends with a darling 3 year old girl and a 6 year old boy.  The precious A off the center cushion has been systematically picked off by my favorite 3 year old and thrown in the lake by big brother. We are VERY SAD,

This is probably a dumb question, buy are those letters for sale ANYWHERE? :( :'(

Cover ideas?

ideas for my sad grieving TOYOT friends who are missing their A.

Thank you!!! Nice to meet the group!

My boat does not have this so not certain what these look like or what material they are.

You can check these out in the "buy parts" section:
MGRZ100322   Emblem,RearSeatBack,"Toyota",Sand,Vinyl
MGRZ100339   Emblem,RearSeatBack,"Toyota",Surf,Vinyl

However personally would not pay that much for a letter A.

One option would be to invite the kids back 5 more times and you won't have to worry about missing letters anymore. 😆

Welcome to the flock!

So miss my letters!!!!

One of the guys had them embroidered. Keep thinking we'll do that when it's time to replace the vinyl. Well, it's been time, but not bad enough to take the trip.

What kind of cover are you looking for, and for what? We're still using the original canvas, but it's shrunk to the point we couldn't tow with it if we wanted to. We store outside, so on top of that canvas, I pull a big tarp all the way over the tower, stem to stern. It allows tain to shed. Took an old skate helmet and cut a little hole through the inside foam so it fits and sort of locks onto the tow point of the tower so it doesn't punch through the tarp.

Would be really good to get a canvas over-tower cover custom fit. Would probably keep the OEM cover on underneath just to help with heat. Would also allow taking the over-tower cover all the way down to the trailer frame - perhaps with some flaps to cover the trailer tires.

Parking outside is a big factor aging our boat. Heats and eventually discolors the vinyl. The other ones are wear on the cushions' stitching, and yellowing of some parts of the gelcoat. All of that is fixable, just takes time and money and with vinyl replacement, risks the 'Toyota-ness' of the boat.

Thank you All! I got Toyota letters from Captain Rick. I think it was about $40 after shipping. I'm going to put them on when it's winterized.

Cover: I guess one that we can use with our tower. One we can travel with and/or store. I wish I could get my boat up my steep curved driveway.

had a piece of matching Vinyl embroidered then sewn into the seat

I was told glue won't work, in the long term it always comes off
