Failure to start
« on: March 16, 2018, 06:08:20 am »
Not sure if this has happened to anyone else but thought it was worth posting. Our 2000 X22 we bought new in 2000, it is still in the family. We are in Lake Havasu. The boat just would not start, we checked everything and it had no fuel anywhere in the fuel system. Tracked it down to the fuel tank pick up tube. It was COMPLETELY disintegrated'. It was literally powder. We repaired it using a 3/8” discharge tube from a water softener install, it was the only thing that would fit on the barbed fittings and fit in the tank. It’s been in use for 4 years and the test piece (we keep in a 5 gallon tank of fuel)  is still like new. So just more info if you run into it.

Whoa, that's good to know.  We've had our 2000 X22 since new and haven't had that problem yet but I'll put it on the list of things to watch out for and will now know how to handle if it does happen.  I love your test piece experiment too.  A little Epic repair R & D.
