Wakesurf X-22?

Hi Guys,

I've read alot of posts on building a surf wake behind the sx22 v-drive.  I have an x-22 direct drive.  Does anyone have any experience with wakesurfing the x-22?  If so, how much weight needs to be placed where and does anything need to be done to the platform?

this is probably NOT what you want to hear but i know people that have sold there E22 or X22 (same hull) because they were not able to surf on them. Dont know how much they worked on it though. If your gonna try the first thing you need to do is modify the swim step.

I thought Blindside had some luck with an x22 before he bought a vdrive but I cant find the old post anywhere. You might hit him up.

I'm going to try removeing the teak from the brackets next week. Will report out next week. Thinking it will still leave one or two steps up into the boat by leaving on or two of the brackets installed. Just sheet metal screws there and figuring we can deal on wakesurf days. Usually load up the port side but the more I read it doesn't matter too much which side. Port is backside for me and frontside for the kids. Easier on an S22 t9 load up port side and I don't mind riding backside.

You can totally surf an x22. Check under 'wakesurf' and 'x-22' for old posts. I have a 750 in the boot, a 400 between the back seat and the motor box and a 400 on the back seat. All of them are as far to the side as possible. I have a 400 in the walk thru to lengthen the pocket. Think blindside used a 900 in the walk thru. I have no modifications to the platform, but it does dig into the wake, just can't be bothered as I can still surf as long as my ability allows. We surf both sides btw, just depends if regular foot or goofies are setting the ballast.

It is not as clean as a v drive or surf boats and you won't get waist high green water, but still heaps of fun.
