1st time mooring boat, looking for advice!
« on: April 27, 2018, 05:00:18 am »
Finally an uncovered moorage slip opened up on the lake and I was hoping to get some advice from those of you who moor.

1.  What cover do you use to keep the water out of the boat?
1a. Anyone have experience with the over the tower covers?

2.  Should I get an auto bilge pump set up in case of too much water getting in the boat?

3.  If yes to #2 how do you keep your battery charged?

4.  Do I need to worry about gel coat blisters?

Any other advice that a noob to moorage would not even think to ask about?

What is the hull id number? if it is a 99 it ok. if it is newer add pump below and wire to battery w fuse.

Boats can blister if lake has tanic acid from trees or is polluted.

The best is a  separate bilge pump with its own battery that is solar recharged. Do not use electronic sensor bilge pumps They turn on every 5 minutes to test if water is present, Buy old style manual float switch .

Most important is to set shaft log so it does not drip when engine is off!!!!!!!!!!!!
