Fun with the registry

Well, out of curiosity I decided to dig up some production numbers from the boat registry. Pretty interesting.

There's more data to be mined here. Derek, you freak of statistical/spreadsheet/data collection and analyzation, help me out here.

I wanna know: Where's the break in the sequence numbers that would indicate when the hull problems occurred with the E21. They sold piles of them in 99, a handful in the next three years. It would be nice to find the break and know what boats were destroyed and replaced. I wonder if we have the HIN's for the recalled boats in the reg or not?

What boats were produced in the "new" factory? Was it just the '02's? I wonder if there is a difference in build quality? I notice much more attention to detail on my '01 than on my '02. Nothing major, it's just a little tighter and prettier, wires dressed better, slightly better finished out. I wonder if moving the factory and production changed the way the boats were built, better or worse?

They made a bunch of '02 SX's. Where are they all? Brad's got one;)

More pics of everyones boats would really help. I am going to do more stuff with the photo gallery soon, I will make an album for detailed pictures of both of my Epics, for reference purposes. You all should do the same.

I was checking out the hull number look up info today. It was cool to see how each boat was optioned. I came across a 100 maybe more (just a guess) but alot of boats, mainly X22's that looks like were built for and sent to Japan. Every one of them were outfitted with freshwater cooling, no labels, no fire extinguisher, with japan options etc. Not one of them is registered in the database. The registery says there was like 644 total built. Maybe that why we dont see more of them around. I remember a couple years back (yeah I know i must have OCD) a guy from Japan made a post that he had one. I guess I'm suprised I havent seen more on this site or even on the web.

I did see my third epic ever a week or so ago on my home lake Buena Vista in Bakersfield,CA . Just suprised I havent seen more. While 644 isn't alot. It's no small number either.

Oh well back to the boat. ;D

If anybody is interested in getting an xl dump of all the data, here it is. Have at it. See who is the master data manipulator. Maybe you can figure out who shot jfk while you're at it.

This is just the 644 boats from the HIN list. No personal data that was added when you registered your boat is in here.
