fuel pumps
« on: June 09, 2007, 06:44:47 am »
Anybody had problems with their fuel pumps? My 2000 x22 has stalled after a noise coming from one of the fuel pumps. Are these pumps the same as the auto pumps, or are they marine specific? Are they hard to replace? Any advice would be great.

There are two fuel pumps on the starboard aft side of the engine block on a D drive, reversed on a v drive. There is a screen you can clean that may help. I have never had to do it on the two Epics I have owned, but people on here have done it. I think Derek did it recently, PICS PICS PICS

I haven't done it but maybe should. Somebody else talked about it, so I know the info is out there somewhere.

Here's the two pumps:

Mechanic says low pressure pump is out. I need the whole assembly of the high and low pressure fuel pump to replace as one part. Apparently the part number is Lexus 23100-50020 - the Lexus car dealer does not have this - does anyone have this or know where I can get one?
Please let me know asap - summer is here and I'd like to be on the lake skiing.

Thanks for the tip on TSM. The part is a 23100-50020, which isn't in either the Lexus or Toyota parts books. As I understand it, there are two pumps.....isn't that a little more complex than standard EFI engines? Anyway, anyone have any other leads on the pumps let me know. Thx.

Just buy it from Toyota, it is a marine specific part and it is available. I'm gonna buy one for a spare before they disappear. There aren't a lot of marine specific parts on our engines but that is one big one.

Thanks Pete
Any idea on how to buy this direct from Toyota? The local dealer doesn't seem to know how to get the Marine Specific Parts.

Just a note to close out this saga...Capt Rick helped me out in a big way. Came through with the parts in a timelay fashion, lots of good advice. I bought this boat new, has low hurs, have always loved it. Very happy to have a lifelline to be able to use it a little longer. Can't over-recommend Rick's parts line or assistance. Thanks Rick! ;D

No doubt, thanks to Rick for all his support, he doesn't have to do it but he does it because he is a good guy.
