It should be an Ameritrail trailer with a 2 inch receiver.

All trailers have 2" ball. The other item they have a 5 wire flat car harness. The blue wire or the 5th one is to allow you to go in reverse. To take care of this just plug the last wire Blue in the cars brown plug alone and turn on lights to go in reverse.

Here are pics of the type of trailer connectors, they are the Wesbar flat five pin. You might consider the round RV type with a receptacle on the truck. It is more reliable long term. Not too hard to wire up. There's nothing worse than having to get out of your truck when backing up to wiggle that Wesbar connector around. If you will trailer a lot, replace with the round 7 pin. Many vehicles (Ford and GM trucks) come with that type of receptacle standard.

Toyota vehicle wiring harnesses handle the 5-pin adapter as well. Haven't had to lock out my brakes yet

Hey PSullivan,

George here, Robbie's partner in crime.

The boat is on it's way over on a car-transporter and is somewhere out there in the Atlantic. We won't know when it's due until 4 days before the ship arrives into the UK but we think around the weekend of the 23rd of Sept. Then we're driving/ferrying over to collect it asap and bring it home to have a look at this infamous engine trouble and get stuck into the work we have to do. (Regarding electrics, we're bringing our own light-board which we used on our old boat just in case the U.S. electrics don't like the Irish connectors.)

We've also got PP and another few toys to install once the engine's sorted. Depending on the work required on the engine we are hoping to have a spin behind her before it gets too cold over here.

Actually scrap that, it doesn't matter if we don't have her ready til mid-Winter and there's a chance of us turning blue, we're going to be having a spin behind her! That's what dry-suits are for right?!
